About Us
Gloria "the Australian" and Régis "the local boy" have started to realize their dream of creating an ecolodge transforming an old sheep shed or 'La Pastoulière' in an innovative tourism project. Built with sustainable materials and by local craftsmen, the ecolodge was developed as part of a global approach to sustainable local development, financed with the support of the European Union through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
In early spring 2024, they will open their doors for the first time and welcome you to be part of their adventure. Their philosophy is simple: to provide a shared retreat for those who cycle, hike or simply visit this idyllic corner of France they call home.
What is unique at La Pastoulière is their partnership with La Routo, the GR®69 long-distance hiking trail, which connects the plains of lower Provence to the Alpine valleys of Piedmont, following the old drailles and carraires (transhumance routes and right-of-ways) in the footsteps of the herds of sheep from the great summer transhumance of yesteryear. Stop 17 on La Routo is located here at the ecolodge, specially designed to accommodate those hiking with their donkeys or horses.
They have also partnered with EVO Bike Park, the first French Bike Park open all year round. Created by riders for riders of all levels.
Their unique destination also includes a wellness center, a unique space that offers treatments and a sauna where you can relax and rejuvenate.
Passionate about sharing the culture of La Javie with others, Gloria and Régis joined forces with the Écomusée. The museum is staffed by very knowledgeable residents who can walk you through the history of the village and region.
